Uploading Contacts via CSV

If you have a large number of external contacts to add, you can upload them in bulk using a CSV file. Raven provides a template to help ensure your data is in the correct format.

Upload multiple external contacts at once using a CSV file, making it quick and easy to populate your Contact Directory.

How to Upload Contacts
  1. Go to Contact Directory > Contacts.
  2. Select CSV Upload.
  3. Download the example CSV file provided.
  4. Enter one contact per row using the template.
  5. Save the completed file as a CSV.
  6. Upload the file by either:
    • Dragging and dropping it into the upload area, or
    • Selecting the upload area to browse for your file.
  7. Wait for the upload to complete. Raven will confirm whether the upload was successful or identify any rows that need correcting.
CSV Fields

The CSV template contains the following columns:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Organisational Role
  • Department
  • Organisation
  • Mobile
  • Mass Notifications Enabled
Enabling Mass Notifications

Use the Mass Notifications Enabled column to determine whether a contact can receive Mass Notifications:

  • Enter 1 to enable Mass Notifications.
  • Enter 0 to disable Mass Notifications.

Important Note: Contacts without a valid mobile number, or with Mass Notifications Enabled set to 0, will not receive Mass Notifications until their details are updated.

Tip: Use the downloaded CSV template rather than creating your own spreadsheet. This helps ensure your data is in the correct format and reduces the chance of upload errors.
